Section 3 – Integrated social and health care: reality and vision

Interest in linking social and health care increases with the number of people in society who -because of advanced age and worsen health condition - need long-term nursing care and assistance of others in the everyday life activities.

Shared values such as the recognition of human rights, the pursuit of a decent quality of life, upholding the principles of social justice and solidarity are support for setting of an integrated social and health care. The section will address current issues of integration of both systems - the differences and the same priorities, and possibilities of interconnection, collaboration and coordination of social services and health care practice.
